AMISOM (African Union Mission in Somalia)
Amisom is force mandated to support transitional governmental structures, implement a national security plan, train the Somali security forces, and to assist in creating a secure environment for the delivery of humanitarian aid.As part of its duties, AMISOM also supports the Somali National Army (SNA) forces in their battle against Al-Shabaab militants
Among it was the operation linda nchi by the kenyan forces

Djibouti troops join Amisom uganda get replaced?
More than 300 soldiers from Djibouti have been deployed by Amisom to Somalia's Hiraan region to bolster their presence on the ground as they continue to make gains against the Al shabaab extremist group. The deployment of the troops comes nearly a month after Ugandan 7000 troops threatened to exit Somalia, after a united nations group of experts accused Kampala and Rwanda of supporting rebels in the democratic republic of Congo

That strategy of earning the trust of the general populace is interesting stuff.I was born in Central Kenya almost two decades after Kenya gained her independence. That area had been the bedrock of Maumau uprising with Dedan Kimathi, Stanley Mathenge & many of the group's leaders having been born in that District.
Due to the many abuses meted on the population by Johnnies, they were hated with a passion. Our grandpas who fought in the independence war used to transfer the hate to us with those terrible stories of what the wabeberus did to them.
Having remained with a training base in Nanyuki, Johnnies decided to improve relations. Therefore, on their way to the base from Nairobi, their military vehicles would stop by the roadside & they would distribute biscuits & other goodies to us kids.of course we loved it.When our wazees realized what was happening, they started claiming that the Johnnies used to excrete in the food cans before giving them to us....they also expressly forbade us not to get near the trucks......& the hate & suspicion was back in the third generation.Anyone who has read 'The British Gulag' knows how deep the hate is in the older generation of anything British.
Good work KDF.You've won the battle of the minds from the start
