That's the official version and it tallies with what I've heard in private conversations with people conversant with the goings-on with the Ole Man's detail.
When we screw up, I always own up or shut up, but this was no such thing. What I know is that the ole Man may be 69 this year but young men half his age are always struggling to keep up with him and his unforgiving retinue, and that includes his motorcade's maintenance. You can blame the State House transport and logistics office but no rounds went off, that's for sure.

Re: Uganda Peoples Defence Force (UPDF),
to our UG brothers, there's a time rais M7 had said the UPDF engineers would construct the new standard gauge rail from Malaba to Kampala.Are those plans still there? Kenya will start constructing the rail from Mombasa hopefully at year end.Hope UG does it's part because in three years when it is projected the rail line will reach Malaba, if UG won't have constructed their part, there will be a bottle-neck

all i can say is that the media in africa has been cheated into publishing all sorts of stories without thinking about their intended consequences and to be the truth. western media is exactly the opposite, where stories are published to give even the most desperate some form of hope. result: africans not loving their countries, westerners love their countries to the last full stop. stories currently being run by our media houses on KDF in somalia only reinforce somali's disregard for our actual mission there, even fuelling conspiracy stories on the same. that would be africa's only downfall if africa were to unite and come up with a united front

Are you @Spartan/@F.Crane/@Agressor in the cake-list? Or does the nomenclature "Snubbing" also frequent Kampala's airspace nowadays? Hope you soldiers will be smiling all the way to the bank in the next financial month.

Re: Uganda Peoples Defence Force (UPDF),
really Crane? an African soldier..and a UPDF one at that,..would question that? You've probably had your convoy attacked, fanned out in search and got some Ugandans who were among the attacking crew. Would you read them their rights and arrest them? Gimme a break man, K.D.F and all Soldiers are not in the business of pleasantries. If he wanted pleasure he'd have stayed home to his wife or girlfriend. War is an unpleasant, and you more than me should know that.Flying Crane wrote:i am certain this is sector 2.........anyway when did KDf involve in discipline its citizens?? which ever way you look at it its not pleasantjasiri wrote:Crane, those are Kenyans beating up Kenyans...i woulda done the same thing. Uganda hauls back two dozen Somalia peacekeepers over scam
(Reuters) - Uganda has recalled the commander of its peacekeeping force in Somalia and almost two dozen other officers suspected of involvement in a scam to steal food and fuel and sell it on the black market.....
This is not good for the image of the force, but i reckon all will be handled well.

Re: Uganda Peoples Defence Force (UPDF),
Israeli. Ug refurbished and overhauled its MiG fleet in 2003 if my memory serves me right in Israel. New avionics and Israeli systems that could allow to fit. A Russian may actually not recognise that ours are MiGs if he sat in.jasiri wrote:Most likely Ukranian contractor. Israelis don't have those blocky body features on display here. Re: Uganda Peoples Defence Force (UPDF),
That's the widely acclaimed X95 standard issue Israeli Assault Rifle (not to be confused with its civilian version, the Tavor MTAR-21 Micro Version), the only weapon in the world (so far) capable of using three weapon calibers 5.56mm, 9mm, and 5.45mm, and therefore capable of using both Western and Eastern ammunition. It has a conversion kit for the different types of ammo, when your ammo gets used up, if you've captured some enemy ammo, no problem - just convert the weapon to use the enemy ammo and continue the fight. I've seen Americans ambushed (in movies) and after they run out of ammo, they lose their M4 Carbines and pick up the enemy AKs. Guns not many are very familiar with.jasiri wrote:looks like a pimped version of the type 05 SMG. with a butt like that i wouldn't want to fire that weapon, looks unnecessarily bulky.Olekoima wrote:Quite a serious machine this one:-
Risasi, bullpup gun designs sometimes look unconventional especially when you try to visualise how you would hold and fire it, but believe you me, they are tried and tested. The Secret Service actually uses one made in Belgium. The X95 is the only gun that comes close to the AK47 when it comes to enduring all weather conditions, thanks to the ingenuity of Israeli weapons designers and their environment.

Seems like this guy at the Daily Monitor knows what he is talking about. His perspective on the Sukhois;

What's happening around Entebbe & Kosovo, Soldier?
