Kenya Defence Force
The Kenyan Armed Forces number between 40,000 and 45,000 officers and men. It is the untested and well balanced force in the region. The force is a renowned candidate for many united nation peace missions.
The Kenyan Armed Forces is best equipped Force in the region. The force also leads in the Military transportation sector.
Kenya Armed Force for example has over 23 transport helicopters, 37 attack choppers and 31 fixed wing transport aeroplanes. Critics have it that the Air combat wings still don,t compliment the entire Military structure.
Unlike the rest of East Africa, the Kenya army mainly uses weapons from the West, until recently a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) report says. The force is currently running a MLU (mid life upgrade) program. Some of the upgrades are; the Air force F-5E to F-5EM, army’s AML-90 light tanks and several squad assault weapons. In the MLU programs, equipment replacement are being awarded to Eastern bloc manufactures for the first time in Military history.
The Kenyan navy operates missiles and several gun boats mainly acquired from Europe.
Proposal have been made on F-15, JF-17 and Mi35 gun ships

Sh1.6 billion tender
Corruption is corruption court martial on the way. According to standard news paper
three senior officers — a Major General, a Brigadier and a Colonel — would in an unprecedented move be court-martialled soon over claims of involvement in another scandal which involved raising invoices of payments involving millions of shillings without attaching the requisite documents.

Re: Kenya Defence Force
Basically what OTT does is build or modifying MRAP-MRUV based on your budget requirements. it doesn’t own a vehicles or brands apart from the armed shell for the apc. give it your budget and it will get you a chassis and engine to fit in. The outward appearances will look the same but the chassis and engines are different. So it might not necessarily mean Kenya would have got the TATA versions.

Re: Kenya Defence Force
My kenya brothers I have been following this debate in silence. Its an open secret that Uganda is making pace for yhe Kenyan Military. A good example are the MRAP vehicles. We the Uganda defence force operated the MRAP vehicle for the last 10 years. its now a new item for your country Updf has the Nyala RG31 similar to the ones used by the US miltary in the gulf. The tables have turned UPDF is now the leader in the region.

The picture posted by the prevleged son is not a new trainer. its an EX-KAF fighter knowns a Strikemaster Mk 87.
The Strikemaster Mk 87 and the hawker hunter (see below) worked in pairs like the Hawk and the F-5.

it is not uncommon for aircrafts to experience problems after major services or overhauls. The F-5 in question was a F-5F (trainer). to avoid any delays in training, parts were exchanged from another F-5. this again is also not uncommon in the aviation industry esp. when time is of essence. New parts will be order and the “cannibalized” fighter will be reinstated to it previous mode. These were precautionary measure in respect for the aircraft and its crew.
