What it helping ole man is a hawkeyed leadership that compliments Kenya's political muscle within kenyana and africa. Someone says kenya needs to act big, it does not. In kenyana kenya is doing well than most countries that are are just taking off. READ the tall thin one. They are getting loans from prescriptive IMF to build key projects like airports amidst tight sanctioning of aid withdrawal and negative reports about them facilitating rebel movement/m23. Others are getting aid to develop their legal systems, while ole man embarks on lappset and other key developments.

heh heh heh ..... innocuous mental excersices from what sammy and his fellow "profligates" call collective bargaining. Where the victim is left muffled. Can someone tell Sierra Kilo Kenya does not even condon such bargaing. We do not even need to be enraged by SA goods flooding the TZ. Market. There is an unofficial begging culture that has began in kenyana, where the recipients admits their wobliness to facilitate milestone project. The vuvuzelas nexus between economic and political leadership is weak hence cannot justify to alienate kenyas export market.

Bullets cut short steamy love session
(Standard Digital Edition)

Police are looking for a Slovakian national who escaped after he was accosted having sex with a commercial sex worker inside Nyali Barracks in Mombasa. The man was allegedly sighted by the military officers in the barracks at around 3am.

Ati, inside Nyali Barracks at 3am? How did they get into the Barracks grounds, and at such an hour?

Absolutely spot-on Batian - and welcome aboard, bro. Great insight, good rejoinder. Btw, the Old Man strolls in London like a Colonial King, feted and received with incredible deference by his estwhile foreign detractors. I reckon we might have finally the formulae to ''go-forth-with-courage-and-conviction of Joshua'', and we must hope that their is continuity post the General Elections.

@ON
In life, neighbours and others have no option but to respect you when they see you in control of your homestead and generally doing well in spite of their or other detractors' obstruction or discouragement. It's more like, if they can't beat you they join you. We just have to keep our eyes trained on our set goals and continue to pursue those goals relentlessly, with or without their support. They will come to the table and then we have better chances of determining the terms of our engagement.

BTW: What is this Nyali Barracks maneno?

Drama from Kibaki’s Team in London as former envoy turned away from conference
Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) - Page 30 Clay

Monday July 31, 2012 - Former British envoy to Kenya Sir Edward Clay was among several people who were sent emails advising them not to attend a Diaspora investment conference in London addressed by President Mwai Kibaki. The former envoy had been nominated to attend the forum by Kenya Society Club where he is a member. On Monday Clay expressed disappointment at the last minute cancellation of his invitation. “I accepted the invitation because I wanted to learn how Kenya was promoting its development and investment opportunities to its own people in the diaspora and friends of Kenya and to show support. I am slightly disappointed, after my registration was welcomed by organizers, only to be turned away at the last moment,” clay said through his email. Clay became an enemy of the State when he critized the Kibaki government for allowing Anglo Leasing Scandal to thrive. Clay gained notoriety in 2004 for his scathing attack on the Kibaki’s government when he said the “gluttony” nature of senior government officers were causing them “to vomit all over the shoes” of donors. - Source:kenyan-post.com

The old man.....this man ..'Kibaki'...is setting a benchmark to the so called young turks in the politics of the country....His point is much clearer now.

Kenya is a regional economy and we need a mature, stable, and leadership-ready gun to take over and manage what is now a very powerful, important, and well revered nation.

Geopolitically, Kenya won the Somali war (Resistance to this point comes from players who have been in the theater for almost a decade. However, events that unfolded since October 2011 when KDF sent boots into South Somalia have shaped the current state of affairs in Somalia), hence stands out as a unique, capable, and a worthy neighbor.

Here Kibaki has special friends across the region and away.....'THIS IS THE MOST TRICKY PART OF SUCCESSION SINCE THESE FRIENDS HAVE SPECIAL TIES WITH THE LEADERSHIP....SUCH AS BILATERAL TRADE AGREEMENTS, CROSS-BORDER TRADE AGREEMENTS WITH SPECIFIC TAX-MODELS...etc.....THE NEW PRESIDENT MUST REMAIN COMMITTED TO THE CONSISTENCY OF SUCH CONCESSIONS BESIDES ENJOY SIMILAR RELATIONS WITH SUCH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS'......

This scenario begs these questions;

Will the new regime keep these friends and maintain the regional trade agreements?
Can the current breed manage a war like the OLN?....
Can they stand Western and regional adversity gallantly?
Can they win friends in the region and away and make regional economic ties become more solid?

i really hope that the NSIS has a game plan for this,since if it doesn't gain the high seat, rigging allegations would kick in as would the violence we saw in 2007/2008, though at a smaller scale

Let me initiate you into this 'hallowed' council of sages.
1. In keeping in line with the K.D.F's fiercely apolitical stance, articles with the slightest political lacing never register much responses.
2. Political articles are posted in a separate page known as HEADLINE POLITICS & CURRENT AFFAIRS.
3. Flying Crane is the resident Bandit and chances are by the time u get into 20 regular posts you would have squared it with him; that said, never ever go into a war against Crane and Vitruvian unless you have more ammunition than a Chinese army stockpile

@Jasiri, @Analyst et al
KDF and the Intelligence Community must remain apolitical and maintain their professionalism. That is primarily the reason why KDF is so much respected by all. Respect for institutions and constitutional processes, such as elections, is paramount. They should never try to or be perceived to be trying to influence or tinker with constitutional processes or institutions. For instance, the sneeking of the words ''...National Security..." in the the Draft Constitution at the Government Printer dented the image of the NSIS because that is where all fingers pointed. That should have never happened.

Everyone, I mean Everyone should let the IEBC manage elections and allow wananchi to elect whoever they choose to and then our security operatives can work to educate the new leader, whoever it happens.

And yes, we should keep the politics out of here, too.

Some fellows remind me of those guys that get their pay late. to prove to others that they now have a fat wallet and money (pay), they spare a large denomination Money note to use in public arenas or transports in order to satisfy their ego and well being when the patron struggles to get change for them. the people that issue a 1000sh note to buy a box of matches and two Cigarettes. and when the patron complains on the issue he howls back "why don,t you tell me that you don,t have cash rather than counting your entire days income"

Twisted Evil jasiri why the sudden crowing and crocking ndugu? Are undergoing a monthly financial Metamorphosis?. any way i understand your situation

Mama Clinton is visiting, and in typical fashion, already it looks certain to leave Kenyana more divided than on arrival. Reading through her advance press releases, she is in Kenya to continue lecture on good behavior running up to the Elections, to re-emphasis ''special status'' of Uganda in geopolitical Intelligence and Defense matters (Meles Zenawi has thrown a bloody big spanner into manenos, by gawd), and meet up with the TFG - ask Sharif not to run after August - and make clear what Sammy expects in Pay-back in Zoomaliya peacetime. Haven't the covert figures for all-Kenyana yet; Under one specific program, overtly, USD82 Million directly disbursed, half of that to UPDF - for both Amisom and Anti-Kony stuff. Burundi 14 Milllion, Kenya 8Million and Djibouti about I Million. There are several other transfer initiatives running, some conditional on the Old Man playing Ball for which the good lady has come - already bushing Uncle Woo openly into her visit. Too much going on at the same time.

Oh, I am not sure it is entirely possible to isolate contemporaneous Political stimuli from things we discuss here. There is a definite nexus, ama? At any rate, I reckon the onus is that one must ensure relevance to Military & Intelligence manenos.

The dearth of usual OLN titbits is due to the phase it is in, and the need to compartmentalize kila kitu to ensure ops sec. Lakini the teapot for Chai in Chismanyu is about boiled.

@Observer
The document was neither 100% representative nor perfect. Indeed, it contains many provisions that I'm uncomfortable with. However, that is the document the overwhelming majority of Kenyans passed in the referendum and therefore we are all bound to respect and uphold it. Doing anything contrary is illegal or, even worse, sabotage. The insertion of words to a document ready for printing was illegal. It cannot be interpreted otherwise. That's my point.

Maybe that was the point. ...trick AS to expose themselves so the Delta chaps move on their targets. Don't know what the AS fighters are waiting for.... They are no match for the advancing troops.

A while back we were all abuzz about Manpads in this sector, KDF seem to have intel on their "status" otherwise would they risk low altitude flights...

@Observer
I also wondered about the low altitude flights. No doubt, the KDF Intel is good enough. But didn't you hear what the 'man colossus' [aka @ON] said?

Roger that @mogen ... i was thinking aloud ... inaonekana chai imeiva!

@Observer
AS isn't the reason why KDF isn't in Kismayo already. There are other manenos which i believe are now sorted.

I totally agree witcha @mogen. The delta chaps are meant to hit when the enemy has been s.h detracted -from the coastline of Kismayo. I reckon that some of our Delta chaps operate the M16 n M104,which I highly doubt whether they hav silencers to reduce the chances of early detection. Are these rifles supplied with all their parts? i.e. lasers, SILENCERS, rocket lauchers n optic lens.
If this Delta sticks can really manage to roll into town with M16s fitted with silencers, Smile , that would be a gigantic change of tact that would leave the clout "ANOTHER HOLLYWOOD BLOG BUSTER" on everyone's fat imagination.

A well sighted RPG-7 can take down any slow bird a big as a c-130 or a Hind-24 rotary. The a-10 Warthog has greater residue abilith to take a couple of direct RPG hits, but Al-kebab has some conventional=type anti-air long guns that are frankly a mouthful to any fly-boy in a slow bird. But get Risasi to make a few low loops and the bastards open up on him with ineffective small arms - the longer more deadlier ones take a bit of time to bring around from cold. Risasi take pictures of the smokes puff-puffs and hey presto!!

Btw silencers or suppressors are not what the movies make of swishing tuff-tuff noises!! Truth is with or without a silencer Rifle fire is still bloody noisy; all automatics pistols of 9mm and above are still horrid loud with suppressors from fifty metres. But still Silencers are a standard kit for our chaps. Most of them actually customize / custom-make their own mufflers to suit their gun preferences. Most will take to work two long-guns(combo of 5.56mm and 9mm) and an auto-Pistol (9mm)with the 9mm Gun and the Pistol lugging a suppressor-converter. Personal preference = a M-4 or G36, Stengun Mk II with an integrated Silencer (quietest sub n the world) and a Tanfoglio WITNESS 10mm without silencer!

Roger that. Thanks for the insight.
Actually flabbergasted to hear that our chaps can make their own silencers. However, this is outweighed by this assertions that; the 30th and the 40th battalions are trained to "think like terrorists, and 'would-be-assassins' "....which leaves no doubt to such ability.

It is relatively easy to make a suppressor, even with stuff you have around the house or from your trading centre hardware shop. But we have advantage of Machining shops in KDF and very experienced armorers to bring you out good. A day in the office. These is your trusted work tools of trade, your life and your colleagues depending on it. You marry to them closer than your spouse. Balance, weight, size, recoil, sighting, accessories, grip, harness, coloration, mag size, ammo customization, components interoperability, etc. Customizing suppressors is not because of want but because of preference - one man honey is another's poison. In just one Delta stick of five, there may be no repetition of firearm-type at all ata kama ammo is standard 5.56 and 9mm ( a few idiots still lag the odd 7.62 full metal!!)

"Cycoh 'DUDUS'"... can make their own silencers. .

as ON puts it I will add that any equipment (manipad, rpg) is as good as its operator….a heavy statement I say .. most can now speculate an out come……i will stop hapo remind to talk about it end of OLN.

But just to release part of the cat out of the sack there evasive maneuver that can make an AA operator disorientated on how best he should use his machines.
