Re: Kenya Defence Forces (KDF)
Looks like AMISOM (KDF) had a rendezvous with the Shabaab at a place called Miido near Afmadow yesterday evening, if reports and even 'pictures of dead KDF' are to believed. Seen the pics, not sure of what to make of them. My sympathies if true.
Any news?

Pictures look real ( RIP IN PEACE), I believe this probably a staged alshabab plot i mean look at the uniform no real mark of identification if the solider was either a private or an officer?? The alshabab got a picture with a deceased comrade what possibly looks like credit cards and identification cards which mean they can be forged from anywhere or even acquired in Kenya. Then the uniforms in one of the pictures you got an alshabab fighter standing right next to the bodies and his uniform is exactly alike to the deceased lying on the ground.. I also spotted a TFG solider among them so could this mean these are the missing KDF soldiers who went missing a while back.... (sorry my analysis if its incorrect)
These guys are trying to test and break our spirit but hell no we won't break so alshabab you better begin digging mass graves for you all you're followers.. because the end of the tunnel is almost here
I am still shocked that even there twitter page is still up that shit should have been shutdown months ago
These guys are itching for some blood

Re: Kenya Defence Forces (KDF)
ONE KIA. No MIA. None unaccounted Soldiers alive or otherwise. Hundreds of AS KIA from Mildo and Afmadow Contact alone.
The DPM on first two corpse similar to KDF but that can be Tailored. Third DPM isn't. Could be RAS KAMBONI. Haircut isn't KDF either.
If these were KDF, complete with ATM cards and other IDs, AS would not have missed opportunity to trumpet he names, numbers and clear ID photos on those cards - like they did with the Burundians.
End the speculations gentlemen. It gives comfort to the bastards by eneza-ing their prpoganda.

Has anyone seen this graphic pics of neutralized Al Kebabs from SIN - http://bit.ly/RwHB64
They don't look any different from the ones that @HSMPress - http://t.co/Hk7to2mv, purports to be of KDF soldiers. Me thinks @HSMPress is just doing propaganda.

Al kabab are desperate at the moment and people should check and double check info before running off with it . How come they NEVER mention their KIA ? Anybody with a brain will know why. War is war and lives will inevitably be lost. I'm sure of one thing though, KDF will press forward with steady determination until their job is done. Pole kwao for kia lakini tunajua wako Imara Daima! Miido ni vipi?

Attack is over lasted for 25 hours with confirmed two KDF casualties
BTW this goes to show that alshabab is trying to slow down the convoy to kismayu, time to go the desert storm way

Reports that; Al Shabaab on Saturday dragged the bodies of four allied soldiers, reportedly 2 Kenyan and 2 Somalis through the streets of Kismayo. Can someone confirm?

they waited too long to start this move into kismasyu. miido is strategically placed to make a defensive stand for the alshabab
from now on.. the body count will only climb higher for both sides.

Fall of Miido has indeed come at a cost. The coming days are certainly going to be even tougher.

That's what the pictures seemed to imply from their uniform. Take heart brothers. It must be the retreating Shabaab from Marka and surrounding areas.

KDF now has to become unpredictable, for the last 9 or 10 months alshabab has known to engage KDF in the middle of the night when some of the men are sleeping they have tested our defenses poking and prodding for a weakness and they have found none except that some of these soldiers are young with not enough experience... Other than that KDF needs to start using desert storm techniques and get off the main road and make it harder for alshabab to track them....

Re: Kenya Defence Forces (KDF)
bottom line is that KDF ought to have been on the offensive instead of waiting to be attacked at night while on the defensive.
they should mount heavily armed search and destroy missions as they move with adequate air cover...otherwise they will keep losing the initiative and men like this incident last night at miido

Abubaker Sharif Ahmed supports Al Shabaab.
@McKenzieCNN wrote: on Twitter: We interviewed Abubaker Sharif Ahmed, who is accused of supporting Al Shabaab. He says "Mombasa riots prove that youth want Sharia law here"
Abubaker Shariff Ahmed was arrested in late December 2010 by Kenyan authorities on suspicion of involvement in the bombing of a Nairobi bus terminal. Abubaker Shariff Ahmed is also a leader of a Kenya-based youth organization in Mombasa with ties to Al-Shabaab.

The AS plan was to retake Afmadow!!!!! Last time KDF marched from Hayo thro' Afmadow to Biibi in one go. A.S. are retreating as they couldn't withstand the heat, more so from the deadly airstrikes. It won't be long before the fight is taken to Kismayu

We knew at some point it would get alot more bloodier. How long does it take for a MIA to be declared KIA? Where were the Z9's and MD500's?

But the distance was shorter from Hayo to Afmadow, Kismayo is still 120km away and Alshabab will be ready with ambushes and these battles back/forth battles... The Galana and Tana should be used to land heavy Armour 50km south of the city and march to capture the airport which is on the outskirts of the city then amsiom could start landing men and equipment there and getting ready for the final assault

from what i got,KDF was on the offensive..the kebabs show the apparent military ID of one KDF soldier, from the name he seemed to have been muslim, though slimmer than the guy they are indicating to be the KDF soldier(RIP)
the end result:more ruthlessness on the kebabs compared to before, and one really bloody end for them.
the apparent MIA,the kebab twitter handle has no mention on them, which is good news for now, though ON (assuming he is on the ground) has given a more than fair assessment..though i feel that them troop numbers should be raised, maybe even use the 5th infantry crew who i believe to be more than capable of the task, maybe even more dangerous

@countersniper and fellow bloggers. Let us avoid throwing in threads that would act to lower the morale of our soldiers, we cant also always speculate on what should or should not have been done because war is unpredictable for those who have been in battle field. To all AMISON KDF and others in SOM for a good course, we stand with you all the way, we pray for you. Let last nights incident only embolden you the more. You will WIN the battle! you are gallant men.

Re: Kenya Defence Forces (KDF)
I definately know that this time there is a battle in waiting, however I observe some bloggers here if they were beside the infantry team tasked with assaulting Kisimayu, such dumped morale, would drag down gains. @countersniper, KDF STRATEGY has proved successful all this time. I don't see how it will fail (even if the missing KDF soldiers are with Kebabs) plus remembering many soldiers pre-KDF incursion have fallen and what is needed is fixing eyes on the price. Seems Sec-ops at sector 2 is most definative of operations of war against Shabaab. Beyond miido to kisimayu KDF may need to undertake sequential reinforcements to use prop-driven spotter planes. A time comes in combat, sophistication becomes less valuable asset, the valuable asset being the decision one takes.
