Ya we should and what Kenya has is similar in shape and dimensions to any airforce one in the region. I don,t see how this statement is credible.

Would Sisal have us understand that when Prezzy Kibaki flies Kenya Airways, this plane becomes Kenya's Air-Force One for the duration of the flight? What if Prezzy Kikwete took the short jump from JKIA to KIA by Kenya Airways (could happen with this EAC Protocols), does this too imply the plane is TZ Air-Force One? Come on guys!!

Ya ole Nkarei has a point. Can Kenya airways be air force 1. for a shot duration? there stand description for that bird, man which the neighboring forces don’t have.

an air force one is an AIR FORCE airplane whose primary mission is to transport the president hence THE AIRFORCE 1.

Air-force ONE is by a more meatier definition ''a Militarised Air Conveyance of the Titular Head of a Nation which has substantive capacities in equipment (communication & defensive/some offensive) & staffing to seamlessly continue the exercise of his Command & Control Oversight of Political, Civil and Military facets of the Nation from this Aerien Platform'' no matter the Location.
Now, interpret that to whatever degree, linear slide by individual nation's capacity, and you have an Air-Force One. A Military VIP transport plane that a Prezzy uses is not an Air-Force One. Neither is KQ for that matter, regardless of the passenger Manifest!

More stuff
The Gulfstream 500/550
Capacity: 19 passengers
Range: 10,700 km
Short SD3-30
Crew: Three
Range: 1,695 km
This one too you will not find it in the wikipedia yet we have it.
To add more
5HOTEL ONE (call sign) The Gulfstream 500/550 is not a military aircraft that I am sure and hence you should not refer it as one of the Military aircrafts of JWTZ hence airforce1.
5HOTEL ONE carries the Tz head of state but it doesn’t belong to JWTZ air force. Get the point here. Mzalendo It could be an out sourced air line contracted to run the VIP services for the Gov,t of Tz. Or may be it belonged to the government of Tanzania but it is not an Air force plane.

Re: Jeshi la Wananchi wa Tanzania (JWTZ)
In aviation the owner and operator of an aircraft could be two different entities.
a good example was:
5YANKEE BEL call sign Nyayo star was a Kenya airways Airbus that could be configured to VIP standards for the kenyan Gov,t. the pilots and crew were civilians , (kenya airways). It was a "civilian registered" aircraft hence 5Y-bel. The owner and operators was the Kenya airways staff. when carrying the head of state, Military experts i.e tech or pilots might be see boarding it for security reason or as per the governments’ protocol but this doesn’t make it an Airforce1.
the only Airforce1 in this region is truly the Kenya Air Force Fokker F70 . a "military registration" aircraft with military software and equipments and a property of the Kenyan air force.
The registration stands at KAF308.
the Kenya airforce has a entire wing dedicated to VIP services with pilots crews and Airhostesses. the Wing have the same sequence of numbering of air craft
KAF 304, KAF 305 (Dash-8 ) air force aircrafts for regional VIP duties .
The US president ride on a “more advanced” air force plane dedicate for the presidential duties by the US air force. Get my point now. They is still no air force in this region that has a dedicated presidential aircraft. As the KAF308.
So the 5HOTEL One. 5HOTEL is a civilian aircraft registration for a Tanzania aircraft and not a JWTZ airforce plane. no airforce1 hapo
Uganda too operate 5XRAY UEF a civilian bird.
the gulf stream is up for sale and has been replace by another civilian registered aircraft 5XRAY- UGF, similar model to the Tanzania one.

...and that is simply the bottom line, brothers!
Now, the Old Man has substantive access to his constitutional Presidential Oversight Authority even while flying at cloud level, can easily interactively engage if need be with Risasi (directly or through ''others'') strapped on an eff-five-eee doing a EEZ- Combat Air Patrol off Mombasa.

Thanks for the call signs and codes risasi and ole Nkarei. So short an air force one is underlined by who owns its and the duties of the aircraft.

Looks like they have got BUK missiles too.Might be difficult to violate their air space even with those Flankers Mr Crane. No offence intended.

Sometimes back, Tz was rumored to be shopping for some MiG 29s for the airforce(about 6 frames). Were these finally acquired? What is the position now?

Also looks like TZ acquired a Tu-22 long ranger bomber about 5 squadrons and several other russian equipment including An-22 and a Mil-26 looks like Tanzania air force is become a force to reckon with.

''The BACKFIRE is a long-range aircraft capable of performing nuclear strike, conventional attack, antiship, and reconnaissance missions. Its low-level penetration features make it a much more survivable system than its predecessors. Carrying either bombs or AS-4/KITCHEN air-to-surface missiles, it is a versatile strike aircraft, believed to be intended for theater attack in Europe and Asia but also potentially capable of intercontinental missions against the United States. The BACKFIRE can be equipped with probes to permit inflight refueling, which would further increase its range and flexibility''. http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/russia/bomber/tu-22m.htm

Re: Jeshi la Wananchi wa Tanzania (JWTZ)
The only other none soviet block operators of the TU 22 in the world is the INDIAN navy which has four of these aircraft on lease.
but the RUSSIAN air force and navy have more than 150 of these mean machines still operating to date.
Tanzania can not afford to operate this machine and its weaponry is way beyond the needs of such a plane..simply put it would be an overkill for JWTZ to acquire such,

Re: Jeshi la Wananchi wa Tanzania (JWTZ)
Sorry guys i read it off this other forum called cyber nation and it was about tanzania and how they plan to purchase these aircrafts i it might be true or not but i dont know if its confirmed yet. They would probably pay off the aircrafts by either selling some natural resources equal to the amount of the aircraft or pick up a loan. The purpose will be for offshore reconnaissance and for deep penetration missions in the congo if needed.
